Determined to make myself a success
Knowing that without God by my side

People were flocking to me
And wanting to be my friend
But I politely ignored them
And went on a prayer fast
To heal my heart
From the bitterness
That still lingered
From their words
Yet I know in my heart
I forgive them
For all they have said
Because they will have to live
With God judging them
At the end of their lives
And I am sure
That is consolation enough
For them.
